When Qianyi’s ill, she would try her best to drive us up the wall. She’s grouchy and super naughty.
She climbed onto the dining table yesterday. I told her she wasn’t supposed to sit on the dining table. She ignored me.
I raised my voice and I smacked her. She started wailing but still refused to come down. When she stopped crying, she was lying there looking tired and sad.
When she’s ill, Hubby would buy her a new toy to cheer her up. He bought her lego this time.
Qianyi attended her first speech & drama class at Lorna Whiston last Sat. One parent is required to participate in the sessions. It’s great for me to enjoy one hour break while Hubby’s going to the class with Qianyi. We hope this programme will help Qianyi express herself better in language.
Hubby sent me SOS call about 5 minutes after the class started. Our little girl burst into tears when she couldn’t find Mummy! I quickly rushed back to take over Hubby’s job. I wasn’t sure if she’s too scared to face the strangers or it’s because she’s not feeling well. She hasn’t been well since last Thu. She actually still woke up with slight fever this morning. After syringing her some milk (she prefers to be syringed when she’s ill), I fed her all the medicines for fever, runny nose and cough. I sent her to school. I didn’t want her to skip school too many days.
During the speech & drama session, she clung on to me like a koala. Letter G was introduced. The teachers (two of them) led us to different imaginary gardens. I held Qianyi’s hand to walk and jump with the rest. The teachers gave us some paper seeds to plant in the garden. Qianyi was holding the seed but refused to plant it. We were given paper flowers later. The kids were told to sell the flowers to the parents. Again, Qianyi was holding the flower tightly but didn’t want to follow the instruction. When one of the teachers was giving some crayons and paper flowers to the kids, she wasn’t shy anymore. She went to get her crayon and paper flower on her own. I managed to snap some pictures at this moment.
Hubby will try to come along to the class with Qianyi again this coming Sat. Hope she’ll enjoy the session more when she is healthy. Well, I do hope she’ll have a full recovery by then.

It was raining this morning. I let Qianyi wear her new raincoat. We bought it recently but couldn’t find a smaller size. She was walking to school in her huge raincoat happily. She looked like a penguin…so funny! Many people were staring and smiling at her while we were on our way to school. An Indian man laughed when he saw my “penguin” and he patted Qianyi’s cheek when he walked past us.
She’s back to school at last after spending one week at home… I felt so tired without the 3-hour break in the mornings. She missed school so much. Whenever I took her down for a walk, she would say “school” and wanted to walk to school.
Little Chiaki and her parents visited us before CNY. We have met up thrice before they went back to Melbourne. Our third meeting was brief and unplanned. We actually bumped into one another at Suntec on the 7th day of CNY. It’s a pleasant surprise and Qianyi was wearing the dress given by Lichin, Chiaki’s mum!
Here’s a video clip… The two little girls had so much fun taking turn to slide down!
Hubby and I exchanged gifts and cards on Feb 14 but didn’t really get to celebrate the Valentine’s Day because it’s a working day. So, we wished to have some couple time on Chinese Valentine’s Day, the 15th day of CNY.
While Qianyi was taking a nap in the late afternoon yesterday, Hubby and I managed to enjoy some romantic moments together. When we finished whispering sweet things into each other’s ears, Hubby went to cook the dinner while I was doing the laundry.
Qianyi suddenly woke up when we were having our dinner. Sigh…she interrupted our “romantic dinner”! Guess she had a bad dream because she wanted me to hug her. So, I started feeding her the rice in front of the tv while Hubby continued to have his dinner. When Hubby’s done, he came over to feed Qianyi so that I could have my dinner. But Qianyi’s mood was bad, she refused to let Hubby feed her.
What happened next? Hubby fed me while I was feeding the little one! Haha…Hubby said it’s so much easier to feed Mummy.
Hubby and I have been together for so long… Hope we can keep our marriage fresh and alive always! Here’s a photo of us taken 15 years ago. We met and started dating in 1992!
