It’s Qianyi’s 3rd visit to a theatre last Sat. We were there to watch a nice play called “Lily Can’t Sleep”. It’s a Queensland Theatre Company production.
The three of us were sitting together on the floor (we were given cushions) as it’s nearer to the stage. Qianyi made herself very comfortable. Sometimes she would just lie down while enjoying the show.
Qianyi has watched “The Nightingale” and “I think I can” with her teachers and friends. Her teachers told me she enjoyed the plays very much. That’s why Hubby and I decided to visit the theatre with our little darling whenever there’s a good play.
Wokking mum tagged me on this!
1. At 18, a sick man showed me his p**** while I was walking home alone after attending a tuition class. It looked like a piece of rotten poo to me. I hated that man so much for polluting my innocent eyes.
2. Also at 18, I put on a bridal gown for the very first time for a gown show in school. My “groom” and I were both tall and slim. Many people thought we were an item.
3. I have a driving license but I don’t dare to drive without Hubby sitting beside me.
4. I’m Qianyi’s hairdresser. I gave her a haircut last week. I didn’t do a proper job because she kept moving her head. When I said “don’t move!”, she laughed and kept saying “move move move” while shaking her head.
5. My current height and weight: 169cm, 54kg
6. I was born in the Piggy year but my former boss, a renowned Fengshui master in Singapore told me I should be a Doggie according to the Million Year Calendar. My family can’t accept that I’m a Doggie because I was born on the 9th day of the Piggie Year. I prefer to be a Piggy too…it makes me feel slightly younger. Hahaha….
7. I love to take my own pic (using my camera phone) from time to time (when Hubby’s not around). However, I’ve deleted most of the pics because I looked very silly. Here’s a recent one, taken 2 days ago.
We went shopping this morning. This was the first time I brought Qianyi to a shopping centre on my own. We took a bus there. The little one was quiet but excited as we seldom bring her out by bus.
We had our lunch at Burger King, her favorite place. It’s actually not so difficult to do it without Hubby around. She finished almost all the chicken cheese sticks, half of the Sundae Pie and some French fries too. An Indian waitress (auntie) kept coming near her or looking at her from far. She would lower her head whenever the auntie did that. :p
Next, we visited Isetan. Thanks Jan for telling me that there’s sale. She bought her Pigeon waterproof mats there. However, I couldn’t find it but bought two pairs of Bermuda pants for Qianyi. I think she’ll need more Bermuda pants when she starts her new school next month. Pants are more convenient for outdoor activities.
Since we couldn’t find the waterproof mats there, we went to Kiddy Palace hoping to find one. We found the mats. There are three brands, but no Pigeon. Two of them are $19.90 (original price) and one is just $12.90. I asked the salesgirl if there’s any difference. She said they’re all the same, just different brands. So I bought one $19.90 one and one cheaper one.
The left one is $5.60 more expensive than the right one after discount. I’m not sure which one is better. Qianyi will need to sleep on it when she goes diaperless at night. For the left one, it’s made of cotton 65%, polyester 35% with rubber back. The right one is made of cotton 100% with PVC back. Isn’t cotton 100% more comfortable and should be more expensive?
I found a water bottle which Qianyi managed to open it on her own. I bought it straightaway. It’s so difficult to find her a suitable water bottle.
We bought her a P.YO P.YO water bottle some time back but she has no strength to open it.
We came home by bus too. When the first bus came, she couldn’t wait to board it. She was very unhappy when I told her it’s not the one. Luckily our bus came right after it.
We had a good time. I’ll bring her out more often.
Qianyi’s school holidays started. There’s a field trip to Sentosa Island today but I didn’t sign her up for that. The school’s having their staff training tomorrow, PTA meetings on Thu and Fri. So, it was Qianyi’s last day at school yesterday. She’ll be attending her new school next term.
I took her out for a walk this morning. Guess I’ll need to do it for the next few weeks. If not, she’ll definitely feel bored at home.

I owe mummies and daddy (Kevin) many tags now.I I would like to do this one first because it’s easier…haha… Well, I was tagged by Jan and I still owe her another one.
My little princess’s full name is Kam Qianyi (甘倩仪).
Kam (甘, surname) – Sweet
Qian (倩) – Beautiful
Yi (仪) – Appearance (pretty)
We bought a baby name book. It’s a good guide to auspicious Chinese names. I made a list of my favorite girl names and told Hubby the meaning of them since he can’t read Chinese. There’re female names for feminine moral like virtue and tenderness, feminine beauty, feminine intelligence and wits, feminine gracefulness and elegance. We decided to select a name from feminine beauty. Haha…we wished to have a beautiful daughter…

It’s my 4th Mother’s Day yesterday (Qianyi was born in Feb, 2004). It’s my happiest one because Hubby’s back! That’s the best present for my Mother’s Day.
Hubby bought some presents for me and Qianyi. My Mother’s Day present is a nice and comfy cashmere sweater.
He also bought me some other presents.

The little one received more presents.
Ladybird rain boots
Yin-yang shoes – one side is ladybird; the other side is snail
Harrods schoolbag
Interesting story book
Cute Monkey travel pillow
We love our presents very much… Thanks Hubby! He cooked us a wonderful meal on Mother’s Day too… Oh, that was my best Mother’s Day ever!
So happy…Papa’s coming home tomorrow!
I hope Qianyi will nap earlier tomorrow so that we can go to the airport in the evening. If she’s asleep then, Hubby will have to come home on his own.
She’s been resting at home since Tue. Planned to send her to school today but she woke up around 4ish am. She kept tossing and turning and fell asleep again 3 hours later. We woke up very late, around 10.25am. I’m very tired but feeling excited too since Hubby’s coming home very soon.
Qianyi’s fever didn’t come back after seeing doc on Tue. The vomit was an one-off too. But she’s still not her normal self yet. So I decided to let her rest at home until she’s fully recovered. She took out her school uniform this morning. I told her she’s going to school tomorrow if she is better today.
Hubby calls everyday (sometimes twice a day). Although he’s in London, far far away from here but he’s always there when he’s needed. He called the other night right after Qianyi puked. He kept sending SMSes to ask how we were coping. We miss him so much…there are two more days to go!
Qianyi was feverish again yesterday. She puked last night while lying on the sofa. Luckily she wasn’t lying in bed. It took me quite a while to clean my poor darling, the sofa and the floor. She fell asleep later after taking Paracetamol. I placed a Koolfever Cooling Gel sheet on her forehead, hoping her body temperature wouldn’t soar up during the night.
She woke up with slight fever this morning. I didn’t dare to let her drink water as it would make her vomit. I made her a bottle of diluted milk, 300ml of water with 3 scoops of milk powder only. She wanted to drink water after taking Paracetamol. I let her have a few sips and took the water bottle away. She cried. My poor dear…
I brought her to see our family doctor. The clinic was quite crowded although it’s a weekday morning. She was sitting on the chair quietly, looking tired and sad. She usually would play inside the playhouse. After a half-an-hour wait, it’s our turn to see the doctor. When Doc asked her to open her mouth, she tried to open a bit but looked scared. She cried when she was told to open her mouth bigger. When we were out of the doc’s room, she looked happier. She walked to the playhouse and said hello to the little boy inside. She was ready to play with him. Unfortunately, the little boy’s mother warned me that he’s sore-eyed. So, Qianyi didn’t get to play inside and I had to carry her and tried to soothe her while waiting to collect her medicines.
She’s taking her nap now. Hope she’ll feel much better after a good rest.
Hubby’s coming home on May 12. There are 5 more days to go!
Qianyi was feverish yesterday. After taking her medicines, she took a 5-hour long nap in the afternoon! Her fever started when we were in Malaysia last weekend. She woke up very early today…it’s 4.30am. Poor me… I didn’t take a nap yesterday. We went to bed around 11pm last night but she fell asleep an hour later. Her fever’s gone and she went to school happily.
Hubby’s colleague managed to get him a ticket for Arsenal vs Chelsea. It’s a VIP seat. He sent me a SMS from Arsenal stadium yesterday. The stadium’s full. There were 60,000 people! The fans were singing lots of football songs. The weather’s very nice. It’s great to hear that he was having a good time there. Oh, he bought me a lovely Arsenal scarf! I can wear it for our upcoming trip to Melbourne.
Qianyi’s quite a good girl when Hubby’s away. She didn’t throw tantrums. She’s very funny too. Whenever I’m busy in the kitchen, the kiddy guard gate is locked. She would beg me to open it by saying, “Open the door please!” When I tell her I can’t do it, she would start singing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. It always makes me laugh when she sings that song.
I would like to thank all my blogmates for your comments in my previous post. I miss him very much but I’m coping well.
