Qianyi has a new friend. She likes him a lot. When I picked her up the other day, her teacher told me she kept playing with an ang moh boy who has curly hair. His name is Paulo.
When we reached school this morning, the school bus has just arrived. She didn’t want to go to her class and kept looking into the bus. I knew she was waiting for the little handsome boy. I was right. She looked so happy when he appeared.
When I went to pick her up 3 hours later, she didn’t bear to part with him. This has happened a few times already. Sometimes she would try to hug or kiss him.
Looking back at the photos I took on her first day at school, I realized Paulo is the boy with pacifier. Qianyi loves to imitate him by holding some toys in her mouth.
Qianyi has had so much fun painting with her hands in school. Her teacher told me she started saying some words when she’s doing art. She’s very happy that Qianyi has tried to open up to them. She didn’t talk at all when she first started school although she enjoyed herself there. The teacher’s words really cheered me up a lot. Here’s the artwork she did last month.
Hubby bought her some finger paints recently knowing she would definitely enjoy the messy fun. At first, she dipped her fingers into the paint and colored the paper in circle strokes with her fingers. Later, she enjoyed making hand prints so much. She put her dirty hands on her face too! Daddy and daughter had a good time together.
My two darlings were down with chickenpox while I was still feeling weak. All of us have suffered the side effects (nausea and vomiting) of Acyclovir (anti-viral drug).
When both of them couldn’t eat and I was lazy to go out to pack a meal, I would have some snacks or cook myself instant noodles.
Qianyi was having a very mild chicken pox but her paediatrician prescribed her the drug too. We brought her to see our family doc when she kept vomiting. Doc told us to stop feeding her Acyclovir. Hubby decided to stop taking the drug too as it was making him very weak and frustrated.
Qianyi went back to school today after staying at home for almost 3 weeks. She was so happy to see her teachers and friends again. Hubby’s spots have scabbed up. He went back to work this morning but he’s still feeling tired.
Chickenpox is contagious from about two days before the spots appears until all the spots get crusty. We were enjoying ourselves very much at the water play area in VivoCity two days before some spots appeared on Qianyi’s body. I guess someone having fun there might have caught the virus.
I went to see doc just now. Hubby went back to work so I had to bring Qianyi along. I didn’t sleep much two days ago because of the itch. Now I’ve been feeling very weak and nauseous. I vomited twice last night. I had no appetite at all. I forced myself to eat an apple before I went to bed.
It’s really tough to be not well for so long. The little one caught the virus from me though she’s been vaccinated. Guess Hubby’s going to have it soon as he’s looking very tired. Doc told me many people who came down with chicken pox were vaccinated. The vaccine is not really effective.
Hubby got a little tired working at home and we visited the horses at Gallop Stable at Pasir Ris yesterday. Qianyi was a little scared to feed the ponies but watched them closely for a long while.
There was a group of pre-schoolers having a field trip at the stable and Qianyi was very excited to see them. She even queued up with them for the pony ride as if she were part of their group and cried miserably when she had to leave them behind. Poor dear, she misses school very much indeed
We are all looking forward for her to return back to school on Monday!
I’m feeling much better now. It’s great to have Hubby at home. We are actually having quite a lot of fun together as Qianyi is not attending school right now. Sometimes Hubby needs to work from home and would lock himself in the study. Our little cheeky girl would stand on a chair outside the study and kiss the window while looking at her daddy.
We found a nice park recently. It’s Bedok Reservoir Park. We went there in the morning the other day. Our little princess enjoyed herself so much as there are swings and seesaw which we hardly see at HDB playgrounds. Actually I myself was so excited to see the swing too and it’s nice to swing together with my little precious!
