Qianyi’s going to be a little firefighter on the annual concert day! Her class presents the musical entitled “When I Grow Up”. They had the Full Dress Rehearsal last week. My little girl was so excited to put on the firefighter’s outfit.
Some kids were crying. Some refused to change into the outfits. Qianyi’s little sweetheart, Paulo was grumpy that day. He didn’t want to change into the outfit. His mum hugged him and kept persuading him to put on the bright colored clothes. I managed to take a pic of them when Qianyi went over to sit beside Paulo. She seemed to be so happy just to be near him. I told Hubby it should be an one-sided crush because Paulo was very cool, didn’t even want to look at her.
Qianyi loves this photo very much. When we first showed her this photo, she covered her face with her two little hands and kept giggling. Oh no…we wonder how long this crush will last.
Mummy and daughter were making dough together this afternoon. It was very messy but both of us had loads of fun!
I put what we needed on her red table. She started playing with the flour. She said, “It’s the sand!” Well, she loves playing with the sand. I kept telling her that it’s actually flour.
I added salt, oil, water, food coloring and cream of tartar later. I told her to stir the mixture with a spoon. The mixture was too wet. I kept sprinkling in some more flour.
When it’s dry, I asked her to put the spoon aside. She started mixing the dough with her little hands.

Well, the dough’s ready!
Playing with self-made playdoh was so much fun!
Mummy made some shapes for little darling…
Mummy made two faces on the paper plates later. Qianyi said they are Mummy and Daddy.
It’s been a tough week… At last, I can sit down and take a break…
We visited the zoo last Thu (Deepavali Day). Qianyi had a slight fever that night but she’s fine after taking Paracetamol. Unfortunately, she started having diarrhea the following day. Doc told us it’s stomach flu. When I thought she was getting better, she woke up two days ago with a slight fever again and she felt nauseous. When I spotted some rashes on her body, hands and legs, I quickly brought her to the doctor again. Her school informed us last Tue that a boy in her class has contracted HFMD. I was very worried that she might have been infected. However, there’s no ulcer inside her mouth and she wasn’t running a high fever. She’s fine now and went to school this morning. What a relief!
Here’s some snapshots taken at the zoo. My little angel was a “tourist attraction” that day. At first, a fat Caucasian man would like to take a picture with her but she ran off straightaway. Later, while we were sitting on a bench, an Indian chap approached us and asked if he could take a photo with our daughter. When he sat down beside Qianyi and was ready to pose for the camera, she cried and ran to me. He looked kind of embarrassed when his friends laughed at him.
Qianyi has enjoyed more painting sessions at home lately. Her paintings are always “doodle-style”. We don’t understand what she has painted but they are very special paintings to us.
I bought some bell peppers the other day to cook with pork. I cut around the stems and didn’t discard them. Qianyi used them to make some prints on the paper. It’s fun!
She loves finger painting the most. While she was painting using her fingers the other day, I gave her a cotton bud. She then started drawing with the cotton bud. The painting’s very nice. I let her bring it to school today for the Show & Tell session. She didn’t say anything as expected but she was holding her painting happily in front of her friends. When it’s over, she clapped her hands. What a funny girl! Her teachers told me she’s extremely happy today. Maybe she’s proud to show her creative painting to her teachers and friends.
Last night she secretly put one of her paintings into Hubby’s work bag. It gave Hubby a pleasant surprise when he opened it this morning.
