Qianyi brought her harmonica to school for the Show & Tell session last week. She looked very excited holding her harmonica when I was there to pick her up later. She didn’t want to give it to me or keep it in her bag.

Teacher Emilia told me she was too shy to play it when she was asked to. But she did it later when she was feeling comfortable. When we bumped into Teacher Reena later when Qianyi was putting on her shoes. Teacher Reena said, “She played the harmonica very well. She’s quite a musician!”

I was glad to hear that and I knew she was thrilled to hear the compliments too. She played the harmonica while we were waiting for the bus. She played it again while we were on the bus. She was really happy… My darling, Mummy’s very proud of you! :)

As my little girl missed Chiaki very much, I had to arrange another playdate for her. We visited Chiaki at her grandma’s place this morning. There’s a nice park nearby. We went straight to the sandpit to meet up with Lichin and Chiaki. The two princesses had a good time playing with bubble and the sand.

When we went to Chiaki’s grandma’s place later, a lovely lunch has been prepared!

They are going back to Melbourne next month. We are leaving Singapore soon too. We’ll be relocating to London after Chinese New Year. Hubby has been posted there. We’ll be staying in London for 6 months. When will we meet up again after that? I think it should be around Chinese New Year 2009 when they come back to celebrate it with their loved ones. :)

Lichin and Chiaki came to our place yesterday so that the two of us could chat a bit while the kids would have some fun playing together. They sat in the red car together, took turns to go down the slippery slide, had a good time playing with toys inside the little cottage while the two mummies were chatting away.

We bought a deep fryer last weekend and it’s great to use it to prepare some fish fingers and French fries for the kids. The girls enjoyed the simple meal together. It’s really a lovely playdate.

Things turned “disastrous” after that. Lichin decided to leave after spending 2 hours here. Qianyi and I followed them all the way to the bus stop as she couldn’t bear to part with Chiaki. She started crying pitifully after they boarded the bus. She refused to go home. I managed to drag her home but she continued to cry and scream. I had to open the main door later to make her calm down. We spent more than one hour outside the house.

When she regained her “serenity”, she told me, “Bye bye Chiaki…Chiaki go to the bus.” I knew she wanted to follow Chiaki home. I thought she would be back to normal after taking a nap. She seemed to be in good mood after sleeping for 2 hours. But she became upset again when she saw the toys inside the little cottage. She suddenly remembered she and Chiaki has played with the toys together. She cried and ran to the main door, trying to open it.

When Hubby’s home, she told him the same thing, “Bye Bye Chiaki…Chiaki go to the bus.” My poor darling really missed her pal.

Qianyi started using her child ez-link card today. She used to travel free until an unfriendly female bus driver told me I had to pay for her as she’s taller than 0.9m. She talked to me with a stern face. I took out my wallet and searched for $0.55 nervously. I knew there were very few coins but luckily I had that amount.

Although most of the bus drivers are warm and helpful and they have never wanted to check Qianyi’s height, I felt uneasy after the embarrassing incident. So, we quickly bought her a child ez-link card. Ah, she has to pay for the bus rides at this young age…

“We go by height, not go by age!” Sigh…how could she talk to me (a mother carrying a toddler) in that cold tone!

Qianyi, Chiaki and Luoyi met up again. We chose to have a gathering at Changi Airport so that the kids would get to run around together. They had loads of fun today playing with Hubby while the mummies were chatting away.

Both Chiaki and Luoyi like Hubby very much. Hubby told us the three princesses had a good time playing together. While they were sitting on the railing, Qianyi suddenly said, “Bus’s coming!” Upon hearing that, Luoyi said, “It’s stuck…let’s push it!” Then the 3 little girls started pushing the railing. After a while, Chiaki said, “It’s working!” Then the three of them sat on the railing again happily. :)
