The weather was perfect for a fun family day last Sat. We decided to join an one-hour sightseeing boat tour from Westminster to Greenwich.

I would say, it’s absolutely an excellent way to enjoy the breathtaking view along the banks of the River Thames.

We saw Hubby’s workplace too when the boat sailed past the major banks in Canary Wharf!

When we reached Greenwich, we were already hungry and went on to have a nice lunch at an Italian restaurant.

We visited Greenwich Park after lunch. Our little princess was very happy. This is the best place for her to run around. She enjoyed dancing and marching in the park too. Oh, she’s so excited…

Next, we walked up to Royal Observatory Greenwich which is situated on a hill in Greenwich Park. It’s famous for The Meridian, where East meets West at zero degrees Longitude.

It’s really a fun outing for the three of us, especially the little one. She definitely had a great time that day!

Hubby took a day off yesterday. We sent Qianyi to the nursery together in the morning. It’s the first time Hubby visited the nursery. We managed to enjoy some couple time when the little one’s at school. After we picked her up 3 hours later, we went to London Palladium to watch Qianyi’s favourite musical, The Sound of Music!

We enjoyed a nice clear view sitting in the 5th row from the stage. We were very impressed when the nuns marched down from each aisle. They were singing and walking to the back of the theatre. When the curtain was up, we saw Maria sitting on the mountain (a moving disc). She started walking around and sang the song “The Sound of Music”. Their backdrops were simply magnificent. The backdrops for each scene arrived by moving walkway. From the mountain, we were greeted by the stone walls of the abbey. Oh, Reverend Mother has a great voice. In fact, I think her voice is the best. Maria is not very good.

Although the backdrops were very impressive, we were not pleased with the performance of the main characters. There’s no chemistry at all between Maria and the Captain. I felt disgusted when they kissed each other.

Our little darling enjoyed the show very much in the beginning. She started yawning when her nap time arrived, but she didn’t fall asleep during the 2 hrs and 30 mins (including 15 min intermission). Qianyi has been to a London theatre!! :)

We went to Porchester Square Gardens (a 15-min walk from our apartment) last Sat. It’s very small compared to Kensington Gardens but it’s well groomed and quiet. Oh, I love the tulips…they are so beautiful!

This park is less crowded. My little darling enjoyed herself very much at the playground.

We planned to walk to Hyde Park on Sun. Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are located side by side. Qianyi had a good time running around in Kensington Gardens. We felt hungry before we reached Hyde Park. In the end, we decided to turn back to have our lunch. We’ll visit Hyde Park another day. :)

Whenever Hubby asks Qianyi to kiss him, she would kiss me on my lips first and then grab something else to let her daddy kiss. She would get very excited when Hubby says, “Not teddy bear, I want to kiss Qianyi!”

She enjoys this “game” very much. She would kiss me a few times and put different toys on her daddy’s lips. She loves to grab my hand too. I have had my hands kissed umpteen times because of her.

While we were on the long escalator at the tube station the other day, Hubby suddenly asked her to kiss him. She wanted to take my hand but I was carrying her. My two hands were not free to be kissed. Guess what?? She held my cheeks and turned my head towards Hubby. So, I got a kiss on my cheek!

Ah, that’s our cheeky girl…we love her so much! :)

Qianyi loves going to the nursery. She always looks so happy when I’m there to pick her up. She kept showing me some interesting toys yesterday when I asked her to go home. Well, she wasn’t ready to leave yet. I told her teacher, “She doesn’t want to go home.”

She doesn’t need to bring a school bag. She doesn’t need a water bottle. There’s a coat rack for every group. This is where they hang their coat and a bag of spare clothes. The little firefighter is my darling daughter. :) There’s a jug of water and some cups on a small table where the kids can help themselves to a cup of water whenever they are feeling thirsty.

I ask her “What did you do in school?” everyday. She would give me some responses if she’s in good mood. Sometimes, she would say, “I go to the playground…wear your (my) hat…go to the toilet…roll up your (my) sleeves, wash your (my) hands…” I heard a different answer the other day. She told me, “I play the piano.” I saw her play the piano with her little friends a few days later. She really enjoyed it!

When she showed me her first piece of artwork, she looked so excited. Her teacher told me she glued the tea leaves on the paper happily. She’s proud to show me the salad she made in school too!

I joined them for a morning walk to Kensington Gardens last week. It’s called a “healthy walk”. It’s good to meet up with other parents. Although it’s freezingly cold that morning, we managed to enjoy ourselves.

Qianyi talks more in this nursery. When she finally decided to go home yesterday, she went to the toilet in high spirit. She said “Go to the toilet…sit on the toilet…close the door” in a very loud happy tone! :)

We went to Covent Garden last Sat. I was very impressed when I first visited it with Hubby years ago. It was an exciting and colorful place with lots of free performances. There are many entertainers and buskers on the street, attracting a lot of tourists from all over the world.

We took a picture with the first street entertainer who greeted us. He was motionless at first. He bowed and smiled at us after we put some coins into the hat in front of him. My little girl was very scared when he started moving. :)

Qianyi enjoying watching the “dog” (top left). This dog can talk! He was making jokes too to entertain some young ladies who were touching his front legs (fake ones of course). The ladies were so happy and giggling away. The green man was very funny but Qianyi didn’t want to go near him. She’s scared of the man who was covered in silver paint the most. Hubby said he looked like the wizard in “The Lord of the Ring”. My little darling was curious about the man in dark suit. Where’s his head? :)

Look at the photo above. Both mother and daughter were not looking at the camera. What caught our attention? It’s the jugglers! They are unicyclists too. They can conduct both activities at the same time. Isn’t it amazing?

It was warmer yesterday. I decided to let Qianyi skip her afternoon nap. I took her to Kensington Gardens since she had so much fun at Princess Diana Memorial playground the last time we went there. The sky was so beautiful… It was a 15-20 min walk from our apartment. We enjoyed the stroll and the fresh air very much. :)

There were so many people in the park. Most of them were lying on the grass to enjoy the lovely weather. I thought the playground wouldn’t get too crowded on a weekday but I was wrong.

Qianyi was very happy as she enjoyed other children’s company very much. This playground is really a wonderland for the kids. She spent quite some time on the swing and the pirate ship last time but this time she didn’t get to try them at all although we had stayed there for at least an hour.

When she looked a bit stony, I decided to bring her home. I guessed she needed a nap after all. When we walked past the swings, she would like to hop on one. Unfortunately, all the swings had been taken and many kids were waiting for their turns. I told her I would bring her there another day. She wasn’t very happy and wanted me to carry her home.

Back home, she suddenly remembered the swings and started crying. I managed to calm her down by switching on her favourite DVD, “The Sound of Music” and she’s happy again after drinking her milk and a bottle of warm honey water.

Ah, I think she’ll be going to miss this magical playground when we go back to Singapore.

It was snowing again yesterday! There’s more snow this time. We opened the window to let Qianyi touch the snow. One of her teachers asked me this morning if I have let her make a snowman. Ah, it’s freezingly cold out there… We preferred to enjoy the heater at home while it’s snowing. :)

We visited the London Aquarium last Sat. It’s located at the South Bank of the River Thames. We actually planned to try the one-hour sightseeing cruise on the River Thames. We changed our mind later because of the wintry weather. I love the breathtaking scenery at River Thames. I really enjoyed the great view of London’s famous landmarks, including Big Ben, London Eye and Houses of Parliament. :)

My poor little darling had a cold last week. Before she recovered from it, a persistent fever started. She’s been running a fever for the past 4 days! We went to the medical centre yesterday. She liked the pleasant-looking doctor. When he told her to open her mouth, she did it while looking straight into his eyes happily. When he took his stethoscope, she lifted up her top immediately.

Well, the doctor didn’t prescribe medicine. He just told me to let Qianyi take lots of fluids and have enough rest. He also told me not to bundle her up too warmly as she needed to loose some heat. He said I could feed her the same medicine I bought from the pharmacy if her temperature went up.

She hasn’t taken a bath for 3 days. So, I decided to let her enjoy a warm bath since she needed to loose some heat. She loves the bathtub here (it’s bigger than ours in Singapore). Sometimes she would say it’s a swimming pool. I can’t fill the tub with too much water because she enjoys lying down in the water too.

I just sent her to school. When I said goodbye to her, she’s very cool. She didn’t want to look at me. She kept playing with the toys and ignored me. This is the first time I left her immediately after we reached school. I used to stay for at least one hour previously.

We visited Harrods last Sat. We spotted a very expensive pram there. The price is 5,000 pounds! It’s a Victorian pram, once used by Prince Charles.

We were very impressed by the luxury washrooms at Harrods too. It’s very big and posh. There’s carpet on the floor. There are flowers and some nice chairs for you to sit down to touch up your makeup.

We visited John Lewis last Sun. Qianyi loves the doll house. It’s the second time we went there. As expected, she spent a long time playing with it. She missed her scooter at home. She had a good time riding a scooter there too.

My little girl has learnt to say “Qianyi’s so pretty!”…haha… She loves saying that.

Qianyi made a very special birthday cake with clay and crayons the other day. Take a look! ;)

I bought a red hoodie for her. She looked like little Red Riding Hood after putting on it and the red coat.

Oh, I went to Tesco after sending Qianyi to school just now. I managed to use the self-service checkout without help. Isn’t it a great way to start the day? :)
