My little darling was talking to herself in front of the mirror.

No Daddy…
Just Qianyi and Mummy…
Where’s Daddy?
Daddy’s in the bank.

Daddy spent too much time at work… :(

Qianyi’s always very happy when I send her to the nursery. I would spend a little time with her to help her choose what she wants to do. She would look around first to decide what is best to do.

It’s a bit different this morning. Hubby and I sent her together before he went to work. She’s not her usual self at the nursery. She was hiding at one corner, refused to walk around to see what she would like to do. Hubby told a teacher there that Qianyi felt embarrassed with him around.

When I was back at the nursery to attend the Information Cafe (to talk to someone from Children’s Centre about the activities and services in local Children’s Centre area) at 9.45am, Qianyi spotted me but kept looking if Hubby was behind me. What a funny girl!

When I picked her up at 12pm, she looked around and said “No Daddy”! She was very happy and kept saying “No Daddy” on our way home.

The greatest sadness is not losing the war but being betrayed by your ‘comrades’.

I’d like to thank you all so much for your concern and let you know that we’re doing just fine! Sorry, I couldn’t read the comments left by Teamama and Jasmine. My Windows XP crashed right before Lehman Bros collapsed. This browser doesn’t display Chinese characters.

Hubby still has to go to work everyday but he spends most of his time reading his books in the office. Most Lehman staff will be dismissed on Sept 30. It’s a relief to hear that they will receive their salary by then. Meanwhile, Hubby has started attending some interviews.

Here’s a little update about my little darling. She was scared of a male helper at the nursery last week and she cried. She was so frightened that she wanted to leave with me. She said, “Go home!” So, she took a day off last Tue. It happened to be Hubby’s birthday but he went to work. So, the two of us celebrated Hubby’s big day at Princess Diana Memorial Playground. We stayed there for more than 2 hours. I took lots of photos but Windows has crashed, so I can’t post the pictures.

When I was drying her body after bathing her just now, I told her,”Don’t move!” She smiled and said,”Don’t move. Don’t move a muscle!” Haha, that’s what Bert said in Mary Poppins. When I picked her up at the nursery the other day, I asked her, “Darling, did you enjoy your day?” Her reply made me laugh,”Yes Mummy. It’s so much fun. Woof Woof!” That’s how the baby dog answered the mummy dog’s question in her favourite book. :)

We don’t know when we can fly back home yet. Will update when there’s good news.

This is a guest post by Qianyi’s daddy. Firstly many thanks to all who have been concerned about our well being after the bankruptcy of my employer, Lehman Brothers. We are fine. There are still quite a number of uncertainties and a host of logistical & financial matters to settle before we can fly back home. But the important thing is that we are together and that we are safe. Will try to keep our family and friends updated through this blog as much as practically possible. We are really touched by your concern. Over and out.

We joined the street party at Regent Street last Sun. There were music, dance and some live entertainments.

Qianyi’s so happy to see the ferris wheel. We didn’t take a ride because this mummy’s very timid. She always wants Mummy to accompany her.

Lego was celebrating her 50th birthday at Regent Street. There were some lego activities for children. Qianyi and Daddy joined the kids for a little fun and it kept her entertained for quite a while.

A merry-go-round ride is always fun for Qianyi. She enjoyed it very much! :)

When we first met 16 years ago

We fell in love right away

You are the best thing to come into my life

You bring me joy, surprises and pleasure

On this day 11 years ago

You made my life complete

Together, we built a warm and cozy home

I never imagined

There could be someone

As important as you are to me

There were laughter and tears

We worked through pain to laugh again

We are getting older but better

It’s a dream come true

Just to share my life with you

Happy anniversary my dear

And love me as I love you

When I was a little girl, I loved to dress up my paper dolls with their paper clothes. I spent a lot of time playing with them. It was so much fun!

Now, I’ve made some paper dolls for Qianyi. She loves them. She’s been playing with them for a few days. I’m glad I managed to make my daughter so happy with just a little effort. :)
