Qianyi has been quite a good girl lately. Things went well during our little projects.
Last week, we were making a Father’s Day card together. I didn’t expect her to sit still to do things with me for almost an hour. She made paper flowers with my help, pasted them on the card and then chose stickers to place on it. I held her hand to write the words. When I told her to give the card to Daddy, she looked so excited.
When we washed the rice, we sang together, “Wash the rice… wash the rice… Qianyi and Mummy…wash the rice…rice’s so clean…”
When we scrubbed the bathtub, we sang together too, “This is the way we scrub the tub, scrub the tub, scrub the tub…this is the way we scrub the tub..early in the morning…”
During the speech therapy session today, she did very well using her language to request and ask for help, as well as checking the speech therapist ’s face to see if she wanted her to do something.
When we were doing a collage together, she was supposed to tear some colored paper and glue it on the flower. When she didn’t have the strength to tear it, she asked the speech therapist, “Jie-jie help, it’s difficult.” The speech therapist was very impressed. She asked if I have taught her to say “it’s difficult”. No, that was the first time she said it. When we were making the Father’s Day card, I have said “Mummy help, it’s difficult” a few times. She picked it up.
When we were making a snowman with play dough, she said something too. The speech therapist made a snowman and then Qianyi made a bigger one. The speech therapist said the big one’s Daddy, small one’s Qianyi and asked if she wanted to make one for Mummy. She didn’t agree. She said the big one’s Mummy, small one’s Qianyi… I asked her, “Where’s Daddy?” She said, “Daddy’s working.
Will have more cooperative play with her… I think it does help a lot.
It’s our first introduction to the Club Med concept. Everything was completely taken care of: room, food and even someone to look after Qianyi. It’s such a relaxing vacation!
We love Mini Club Med, the great place we sent Qianyi to every morning. We told her she was going to school. She was very happy. The moment she reached there, she said bye to us. It’s so easy. I thought she would cry but she never did.
We bumped into her and other members of the mini club a few times on the first day. We saw her when they were feeding fish at the lake. Barbie, the lady “teacher” told us she didn’t talk much but she’s a good girl..she didn’t cry or ask for mummy and daddy. During lunch, she only had some plain rice and ice-cream. But it’s ok, they were going to the restaurant for snacks later at 4pm. Our darling girl kept asking us to go back to our room to see her BJ..haha.. She’s embarrassed to see us!
Hubby took part in the badminton tournament in the afternoon. He got the gold medal! When the matches were over, our little princess arrived with her teachers and friends. Her hair was all wet..she just had a swim! After spending a little time with her, we left.
It’s such a healthy sports holiday. With the little one at the mini club, Hubby and I managed to play archery, golf, basketball and badminton. And there were such entertaining shows every night.
While Hubby and I were enjoying a swim at the swimming pool in the morning on our 3rd day there, we saw Qianyi and the rest at the bungee bounce area. We went there to give her our support. Her teachers said she didn’t dare to try it. With our encouragement, she removed her shoes and said, “My turn!”. Our girl was a bit scared on her first attempt but she thoroughly enjoyed it on our last day there.
The teachers (guest officers) were doing a great job. Qianyi was having loads of fun playing badminton, football, water polo, swimming at the beach and feeding the fish with bread. It’s her best holiday ever!
Hubby and I managed to have some couple time. It’s so nice that I didn’t have to cook or take care of the little one. Taking a stroll along the beach, enjoying a drink at the bar or just doing nothing were great! Oh, we went for foot massage. It’s fabulous but Hubby dozed off a few times during the 50-min massage..what a waste!
During dinner, we would try to feed our little darling properly. The club’s photographer kept taking pictures of everybody..so we have more family photos now.
We were pleased with the food. I had lots of desserts during our stay there.. Must have gained some weight.
We didn’t send Qianyi to the mini club on our last day. We would like to have some lovely time together as a family. We went swimming, played basketball and had a stroll along the beach…
It’s a superb holiday for the three of us. I think we have been very lucky as the very best Club Med guest officers globally were in Bali to help with the recent re-opening of the resort. And of course, the most important thing is that the little one had the time of her life
Hubby took the afternoon off today. We went to watch the Little Big Club Live in Concert!
There were some famous characters in the concert..but the most popular ones are Barney, BJ and Baby Bop.
We could see the kids were really enjoying the show. They were singing and dancing in front of the stage!
Going away for a holiday tomorrow. Gotta do the packing now..
Last night, I had a 40 min break in our home gym. Hubby took care of Qianyi while I was hiding in the gym.
I jogged for half an hour. Hubby always asked what speed did I do on the treadmill. I used to jog at 5.5 but he laughed because that’s the speed he used for walking. So, I challenged myself last night. I jogged faster at 7.0. Felt great and slowly reduced the speed to cool myself down.
When I was stretching my legs, my iPod was playing Mel C’s Never Be The Same Again. It’s one of my favorite song. I started dancing. It’s a wonderful way to release my emotions. I thoroughly enjoyed my own slow and sensual movements. I loved watching myself in the mirrors.
Jogging and dancing managed to transform my negative emotions to positive energy. You won’t understand how stressed I have been in the past few months. But during the last two occupational therapy sessions, the therapist was very kind. He told me twice, “Mummy’s doing a good job!” Now, I feel less stressed.
