Maldives beaches are simply beautiful. Fine powdery white sand and crystal clear blue water. One of the most gorgeous places we visited. One of our most unforgettable holidays…

Little one has been assigned as a “little teacher” at school for this week. Hubby has WhatsApp-ed her teacher some of our Maldives photos. When teacher showed the class her first photo we sent, she was very happy and told them, “That was in Maldives!” That was taken during our fishing trip. She posed with the big fish we caught. The second photo was taken at the Island Spa.  When I asked her what she has told the class about the massage, she said she chose the oils, mixed them and applied some on her arm. She continued to tell me the details. She’s still shy in class but with the photos, she managed to talk quite a bit…it’s awesome!

I think she has learned and experienced something special during this lovely holiday.

I have done it… I couldn’t believe how natural it felt!

It was scary when I was told to fall backward into the sea with the heavy tank of air on my back. But I did it! Our first dive, 12 meters deep in the beautiful ocean. I had no problem equalizing pressure in my ears but Hubby kept having ear pain. It’s so amazing and unbelievable when we were enjoying the beauty under water…and Hubby was holding my hand…kind of romantic!!

Little one was sent to Kids Club. She was a good girl, willing to spend time with other kids for  half day.

“Fight the fear and try something new” has been achieved. Thanks Hubby for the encouragement…and well done, to myself!

I have experienced some unique moments and created new experiences in Maldives…it’s indeed a great holiday for the three of us!

Her first spa massage took place in Maldives. It’s called Dream Massage. We went to the Island Spa in a nice little boat. It’s just a few minutes away.

It’s a 60-min massage. It included 15-min oil blending session for kids. Little one decided which oils she wanted to use. It’s fun to create her own blend of essential oils for the Dream Massage. It’s such a wonderful experience for Daddy, Mummy and Daughter. The refreshing ocean breezes made the massage even more relaxing . When we opened our eyes, we could enjoy the sea view below through the glass floor. Oh, what a paradise!!

It’s Christmas Concert last Fri, also the last day of the school year. My dearie was dancing and singing happily on stage. We could hear her voice above the loud music!

Before the concert, a teacher from another class told us that Felicity was doing really good and she was the only one who did every dance step during rehearsal. After the concert, some women we met in the ladies praised my little girl, “I saw you…you are very good!”  Her teacher also said this to Hubby, “She’s amazing, she sang so loud!”

A couple of months ago, her teachers told us they had never heard her sing at school. Recently, we sent a video to her head teacher via WhatsApp. She was singing London Bridge Is Falling Down in the video. Her teacher showed everybody the video and said she had the potential to be a great singer. Maybe that’s the reason she has confidence to sing loud on stage…

“Bad guy”‘ is gone. Now Hubby turned into a hero. He will be the Batman at the costume party tonight! Little one put on the costume too last night. Batgirl had loads of fun too…:)

For the month of November, Daddy is a Bad Guy. This is the first time he goes unshaven (for charity).

Some said he looked cool, some said he looked like a criminal. My 3rd bro-in-law said he looked handsome and took a picture with him.

Today is the last day of November.  He can shave the mustache and beard off tomorrow. Asked the little one if she wanted Daddy to keep or shave the mustache and beard. She said, “Keep!” Oh, didn’t expect she preferred the unshaven look!

Time flies. My little gal has been in this school for almost 2 years!

She loves this school. She loves her teachers and friends. There’s no stress or bullying at school and her academic skills are steadily improving. Her teacher wrote, “With continued team work between home and school, we are confident that Felicity will achieve the goals stated in her Individual Education Program with flying colors.”

There’s no Chinese class in this school. She’s not attending any weekend Chinese class either. This mummy is not forcing her to learn Chinese at home. I don’t want her to feel stressed. I just want her to be happy. But recently, she has started to show her interest in Chinese. She started speaking in very broken Mandarin. When we were back in Malaysia the previous weekend, she tried to speak more Mandarin to everyone. Not shy, not afraid to make people laugh…that’s the spirit I admire!! When we were having lunch at my dad’s home, she suddenly sang an old Chinese song, “多少柔情多少泪”. Ha…everybody was surprised to hear that. My eldest brother was so impressed but his teenage daughter had no idea what song that was.

Her first dental visit a year ago was quite traumatic. But her recent dental visit was enjoyable although she needed a filling. She understood what I told her that there’s a hole in her tooth and she had to let her dentist fix it by putting something into the hole. She was brave and talkative on the dental chair. It’s such a relief to me and hubby…:)

School holidays are around the corner. Last night, she yelled happily in bed, “I’m going to Maldives!”

I love soup. One of my favorite soup is chicken herbal soup. Hubby doesn’t quite like it so we don’t have it very often.

The little one didn’t like soup. I usually would add some soup to her rice. But recently, she changed a bit. She doesn’t mind to take a small bowl of soup after eating her rice. So far, she has no problem with black bean soup, peanut soup, lotus seed soup and old cucumber soup.

Yesterday, I let her try chicken herbal soup. After a spoonful of the soup, she would have a sip of water. After a few spoonfuls, I asked her, “Do you want to drink the soup, or you want Mummy to have it?” She quickly replied, “Yes, Mummy drink it…because it’s so yucky.”

YUCKY?? Sob sob…. to me, it’s so yummy!!

School is really a fun place for the little one. The teachers have used the play of the Little Red Riding Hood in class this term and the result is great. Darling Felicity has played the parts of Little Red Riding Hood and the Grandmother. Her teachers told us she knew when to come in and what to say.

She put on her old red coat the other night. She said, “Knock knock…it’s me, Little Red Riding Hood!” So cute, I took a pic of her. I sent the pic to her head teacher via MMS the following morning. I wrote, “Good morning… It’s me, Little Red Riding Hood! See you later…” Her teacher replied, “Hahaha sooooo cuuuuuttteee! See you in class Little Red Riding Hood!”

When she came home, I checked her communication book. The teachers said they all loved the pic very much. They said Felicity has played the part of Grandmother that day. So, I teased her, “You are the Grandmother? So old!” She said, “I’m not! Just pretend…” Hahaha…

Doing things with my daughter is fun..especially girly things. Whenever I take out my makeup pouch, she would say, “I want to help!”

Yesterday, I let her put makeup on me as usual. When she was applying lipstick with a brush, I told her, “Color inside, don’t color outside!”  Hahaha, it’s just like doing coloring. Well, she’s getting better because her coloring skill has improved a great deal.

When she’s done, she said, “Finished your mouth, here you go!”

I have a few strands of gray hair. When she found one the other day, she kept asking me to cut it. It’s nothing new with the gray hair. I’m not going to dye my gray hair away unless I have more. When I found my first gray hair a few years ago, I asked Hubby to pull it out. It’s painful, I couldn’t do it myself. But lately, I decided to cut it. When the little one told me to cut the gray hair, I said it’s okay to leave it there. She was unhappy. When Hubby was home, she told him about my gray hair and asked him to cut it. Perhaps, a single gray hair made me look very ugly? Hubby has a lot of gray hair but she didn’t complain at all.

Every night, she would ask me to massage her back with lotion. It’s Mummy’s job. Asked if she could let Daddy do it, she said NO. Perhaps, Mummy’s skill is better.

We talked about best friend some time ago.

Little one: Who is Felicity’s best friend?

Me: Pippi. Who is Mummy’s best friend?

Little one: Daddy

Me: Who is Daddy’s best friend?

Little one: Mummy

Hahaha…didn’t expect her to say that…Mummy is Daddy’s best friend, Daddy is Mummy’s best friend.

Darling, when you grow up, can Mummy be your best friend?
